Networking event attracts town leaders

Successful Christmas Networking event at the Theatre

Woking Chamber of Commerce ran its final networking event of the year on Friday 2 December at the New Victoria Theatre in Woking. Mike Harvey's company Ongar Medical Ltd sponsored the event and donated his promotional spot to Citizens Advice Woking.

Around sixty local business people attended including Cllr Anne Murray, the Mayor of Woking and her consort, Mike Smith, along with brief visits by Jonathan Lord MP, Ray Morgan, Chief Executive of Woking Borough Council and Cllr John Kingsbury, Leader of the Council.

Charles Croker spoke on behalf of Citizens Advice and attendees were both surprised and impressed by the extent of their work and the fact that help had been given to as many as 11,000 people during the year. A prize draw was organised by the Chamber to raise funds for Citizens Advice and prizes were kindly donated by DoubleTree by Hilton, Las Iguanas, The Ambassadors Theatre Group, Menzies and Angela Melling, who took studio quality "headshots" throughout the course of the meeting and raised £40 which was added to the impressive £300 raised by the prize draw.
