Woking Community Fund Secures £4000 Matched Funding from Community Foundation for Surrey to Combat Local Poverty

The Woking Community Fund is proud to announce that it has secured £4000 in matched funding from Surrey County Council via the Community Foundation for Surrey. This funding will bolster the Community Fund's efforts to address poverty within the local area, providing vital support to those in need.

The matched funding will effectively double the impact of Woking Community Fund's fundraising initiatives, enabling them to make meaningful grants and support projects aimed at alleviating poverty in the Woking community. Every £1 donated will be matched by £1 from this funding.

This initiative presents a unique opportunity for individuals and businesses to amplify their impact and contribute to positive change within our communities.

Examples of funding we have already been able to provide include:

City Gate Community Projects: Funding to support an organisation providing food to groups supporting people in food poverty.

Stripey Stork: Core Costs: Funding for a Baby/Childrens Bank that supports families experiencing poverty across Surrey with essential items.

The Tackling Poverty Campaign cannot succeed without the generosity of our community. Your contribution, no matter how small, can make a world of difference to those in need. Together, we can ensure that no one in Surrey is left behind. Join us in spreading warmth, compassion, and hope throughout our community.
