British Bee Day
20th May was ‘World Bee Day’
Chamber members ‘British Bee Charity’ celebrated the event by launching ‘BeeBomb’ education packs in conjunction with sponsors Egmont Honey producers of Manuka Honey.
The scheme is open to all junior schools in the UK and is free.
The British Bee Charity are sending out educational packs, together with BeeBombs which are native, wildflower seed balls, handmade in Dorset.
Egmont Honey will also send on request a sample of their delicious Manuka honey for the children to sample.
The educational pack includes a PowerPoint presentation with teacher notes.
The presentation explains to the children the plight of bees and other pollinators and how we can each do our bit to help them, like planting pollinator friendly flowers.
The offer is limited to one pack per school,
