Chamber forms new environmental committee
Carol Miller in the chair
PR and Communications
Consultant Carol Miller has been invited to set up and chair the first
Environment Committee for Woking Chamber of Commerce.
Following on from the success of our recent Woking Women in
Business Conference which had the environment as its core theme, we decided to
look at the idea of an environment hub that Carol suggested when she was
hosting our panel of experts in the field at the conference...
Based on this, Carol has submitted a Terms of Reference
document for the committee and has started bringing together Chamber members to
form the committee which will be meet every six weeks and report into the
Executive Committee.
Carol commented ‘We are fully committed as an organisation
to protecting the environment. Long-standing member Dave Peet has represented
us on Woking Borough Council’s Climate Change Committee and he is keen to
continue to attend this Committee as a contributing member of the Environment
Committee.
The scope of the committee will be to:
·
Provide a hub for members to share and access
information on how they can operate in a more sustainable way to help preserve
and protect the natural environment.
·
Motivate and support initiatives for Woking
Chamber of Commerce community to become a go to resource for potential
customers and clients who seek greener resources and stakeholders.
Its key focus will be:
·
People – health & wellbeing
·
Environment
·
Climate change.
Welcome to your new role as Chairman of the Environment
Committee Carol, and to your new place on the Chamber’s Executive Committee.
