Woking Chamber visits Houses of Parliament
An evening with Jonathan Lord MP
On Wednesday 9 June, fifty members and guests visited the
Houses of Parliament for a fascinating guided tour of the building, drinks on
the Terrace overlooking the Thames and dinner in a beautiful oak paneled room.
The food was superb, the service discreet and efficient and the atmosphere reeked with a sense of history and tradition. Our host, Jonathan Lord, newly re-elected MP for Woking told us about life in the Commons with a conservative majority and ‘reluctantly’ mentioned that he had returned the largest conservative majority in Woking for as long as anyone could remember.
It seemed to be unanimously agreed that this had been an excellent evening.
