Consumer legislation is based on the average customer. The Financial Conduct Authority is of the opinion that vulnerable customers are less able to represent themselves and do not always get fair treatment. Consumer legislation requires that vulnerable customers are treated differently. Treating vulnerable customers differently leads to better outcomes, it promotes staff morale, customer loyalty and brand building.
The training course focusses on helping financial institutions identify who vulnerable customers are; it highlights problem areas; discusses what steps can be taken and what good practise look like; and it also discusses why it is important that vulnerable customers should be treated differently.
It is interactive training with real life examples and audience participation.
