While many questions still need to be answered by the Government before we are completely clear, the purpose of this event is to bring you up to speed as much as possible as it stands today.

To help us do this we are bringing together a panel of experts on 22 February 2018, to share their particular perspective on General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). All four panelists will share their latest information and welcome questions from the floor.

What is GDPR?

From 25 May 2018, individuals will have the right to have their personal data erased, otherwise known as 'the right to be forgotten', in compliance with GDPR.
What does this mean for business?
In what circumstances will that right apply?
Will there be legitimate reasons not to comply?
What if explicit consent to process the data has been given?
Should third party organisations be informed of the deletion?

Currently, the maximum fines being issued by the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) are £500,000. On 25 May 2018, this will increase to a maximum of £18 million or 4% of your global annual turnover.

Personal data is one of your businesses most valuable assets. Your database is your lifeline to the success of your business and the key to on-going profitability.

Getting this right protects the reputation of your business; avoids punitive fines; engenders trust and ensures that you don’t lose out to your competition.

We tend to forget how many roles we perform in our lives, and getting the right balance between them can feel overwhelming. Then add the emotions that are attached to each one, and you can find yourself feeling permanently guilty - and not getting much of anything done!
This workshop is about exploring those roles that we play, how we think we are handling it right now and how we could make it work better. With the right balance, you can concentrate on each activity, relationship or connection, being really present in that moment, achieving more and feeling more of an accomplishment at the end of the day.

If you work with freelancers or use ‘virtual’ services to run your business this seminar is for you. How do the people you work with – freelancers, self-employed or people providing virtual or non-virtual services to you - affect your brand? If someone delivers work late to you – how does that affect your clients and what they think of you and your company? If a freelancer represents your business to a client directly – how concerned are you about how they behave, communicate and deliver services on your behalf? Join me to find out more about how the people you work with affect your brand and what you can do to protect it. In this seminar you will learn:
Why thinking about ‘fit’ is just as important for the reputation of your brand if your ‘team’ includes freelancers, self-employed people or people from companies who provide virtual or non-virtual services to you.
Why thinking about how you set expectations with your ‘team’ in a consistent manner can make the difference between good results and those tricky situations where it hasn’t worked out how you hoped, but because your team are not employees, it’s hard to do much about it. That matters because if it hasn’t worked out how you hoped – your brand may have been damaged along the way.
Why thinking about how you can improve the way you work together building on past experience can ensure your brand’s reputation stays intact, and your business can flourish.
The overall benefit of attending for you is becoming fully aware of the impact the people you work with can have on your business – even when they’re not employees. You can then decide which of the tips I share will help you protect the reputation of your business best.
