Menzies and Woking Chamber raise vital funds for the White Lodge Centre

Menzies’ sponsored Quiz Night will raise vital funds to help local disabled children and adults

Menzies Chartered Accountants will be sponsoring its 10th Annual Quiz Night on Tuesday 29 April at 7:00pm at the HG Wells Conference & Events Centre.

The Quiz Night organised by Woking Chamber of Commerce will be raising funds for the White Lodge Centre in Chertsey. The Centre provides specialist services and support for local disabled children, young people and adults. A specialist children’s centre offers therapy services including physiotherapy, occupational therapy as well as speech and language therapy. Families caring for a disabled family member are given support through a Family Link and Befriending Scheme as well as benefiting from a programme of out-of-school activities and at home domiciliary care. Adults living with a disability have the opportunity to build skills and confidence that can help with finding employment.

Salvador Amico, Partner, Menzies and one of the organisers of the Quiz Night sees the evening as having a dual purpose:

“The White Lodge Centre provides many families in our community with a very essential service. Unfortunately as a voluntary organisation it has to compete with many other charitable organisations to raise the funds needed to continue to operate. The Quiz Night offers an opportunity to raise some vital funds, but also to make our local business community aware of the fantastic work the Centre carries out which we hope will lead to further support.” says Salvador

Teams drawn from Woking Chamber members will battle it out to win the coveted Quiz Night Cup. Menzies’ Partner, Jon Jagger, will be the Quizmaster for the evening. HSBC in Woking will be hoping to retain their 2007 winner’s title battling against some very strong competition.

There are still places for teams (maximum of four in a team) and any Woking Chamber members who have not already signed up are encouraged to do so.

Doreen Pipe, Fundraiser at the White Lodge Centre, will be attending the Quiz Night to thank all those participating in the event:
